Just wondering what a realistic running time to expect is? At the minute I';m getting around 8mins before the red light starts flashing on my naza v2 but want to put fpv etc on it but not much point if I can only fly for 8mins.

My specs are

F450 with e300 motors and escs and standard props
Naza v2
At the minute I';m using 3s 2200mah.

I want to add a video transmitter and use my gopro as an fpv camera

Am I better off going bigger batteries? (how big?) or running two of these in parallel?

4cell 4000 mAh lipo';s should give you an easy 15 minutes.

What difference does 3 and 4 cell give you? Do you get longer or just more powerful

They can supply a higher wattage, so more ';umph';!

Amps x Volts = Watts.

One of the reasons 3D heli';s use minimum of 6 cell';s

But do they actually last any longer or would a 4000mah 3s give me the same run time as a 4000mah 4s just with less power?

I';d be very suspicious of any claim that they would give the same flight time, that was certainly not my experience.  Plus, you are adding more weight, so will need more power, that';s where more cells come in to play.  I would say, 4 cell lipo';s and 10" props.
