StratoSnapper2 anyone used one of these ?
http://alpha.littlesmartthings.com/stratosnapper2/

I need a trigger and video output for a sony A6000, this looks useful, have emailed asking it if it does the video out or not.

dockman

I use one to control my A6000, very easy to setup and works perfect.

Can use it to trigger photos and start and stop video recording.

If you also need something to convert the micro hdmi to an AV output you will need a separate converter.

Great thanks... does it use the led to trigger the A6000 or do I need a cable

AND if its using the led, does it already know the codes , it states "Learns new IR commands just by shooting your remote at it" which is OK if you have a remote to "shoot" it with.

I use the IR transmitter, and it already knows the codes they are the same as the NEX cameras.

Did you have a look at the posts about ';Sony Nex Gimbal'; in the Brushless Gimbals area?

I followed the advice there and have a fully functioning system that gives live video to my ground station ~ and I now understand how things go together better as well!

Cheers
Andy

Yea Thanks Andy. I have spent weeks reading forum posts on my voyage of discovery, that was one of them. wanted to avoid the directly connected board , but at the price I might give it a go.

Decided to go with this one as FastLad has one in stock
http://www.fast-lad.co.uk/store/micro_hdmi_converter_with_shutter_%28photo/movie%29_3015m_*flp0112*-p-30198.html

Although I did like the look of the Gentles Ltd device , had they also had a hdmi  to av video adapter I';d have went with them.

Hi Alan,
I checked my kit this evening; the camera powers the board and emits an AV signal which I was able to feed direct to my monitor without any power from anywhere else!

The power from the RX appears to generate the IR signal, via the IR bit on the board, and down the bit of plastic tube to the IR sensor on the front of the camera.

Pics if you want some, just let me know.

Hope that helps.
Cheers
Andy
