Budget gimbal - DYS Smart 3 Axis?

So this would, on the face of it, appear to be a blinding deal:

http://www.flyingtech.co.uk/fpv-camera-gimbals/dys-smart-3-axis-gopro-brushless-gimbal

I';m not planning to use a GoPro (sadly don';t have one yet) so initially it';ll be waving a Raspberry Pi Model A+ and camera module around - similar size/weight so I don';t think it';ll have issues with that, in principle...

So, question is, does anyone have any experience with this? Any good? Best to avoid and spend £50 more on something a bit more sorted? Newbie on the gimbal front so still getting the lay of the land, this looks like it might be a good way to go as a first step!

I could, but I';d rather buy a GoPro Hero for £20 more and have a gimbal that comes with a manual, authentic hardware I can update firmware on, etc - but maybe that';s just me! The eBay stuff is _very_ cheap but I do want something that';ll last, and I mean that in the sense of being upgradeable and straightforward to integrate with my flight controller/additional RX.

Here is my ';out the box'; test of the DYS 3axis gimbal, I calibrated it and then set the yaw offset so that it pointed out the front of my quad on startup and enabled ';follow me'; in the GUI, I did not upgrade the firmware to the latest version, just strapped it to the quad for a test...

The rubber ball isolators are way too soft which caused a bit of vibration in wind. Also the level on roll went a bit wonky after some heavy YAW.

Excellent gimbal for the price ;)

P.s I got it from Banggood.com UK warehouse for about £115 free postage and it arrived the next day!

I when you say that you would rather pat £20 more for a gopro, I would say not to bother with the £99 one it';s very restricted, no removable battery and is permanent entombed in a case.

The next one up is a bit more useful (and expensuve)
Not much kit, but what I have I like
Armattan Tilt 2, Morphite 180, Quark 150, Decapitated NanoQX
Taranis+

Bombtrack

The SJ4000';s are excellent for the money.

Kilby is right, the cheapest Gopro is very restricted. I was looking at getting one ( I could have gotten one for £80 from my work) but decided on the SJ4000 instead.

The screen and wifi are very useful and image quality is essentially on par with a gopro. Maybe a little cold in the white balance but that';s easily fixed in post.

The next gopro up is certainly better than the SJ4000 but it';s also 4 times the price.
