MrMrdr,

sorry to hear of it being broken. I';d also like to offer my services to fix it.

I have some experience in repairing ripped pads and such, to get a device going again.  I';ve only ever done it to get it operational, not to look pretty, however.

If you can get us a close-up picture with top-down view of the delaminated trace?

Dal, fortunately Tim is only down t';road from me by about 8 miles and we both know where we live. So if push comes to shove we can collaborate on getting the board tickaboo for you.

Oh, and welcome back fella - I did occasonally wonder where ya went. ::)  Good to see you back.

Is that part not going to be vulnerable in actual use?  Even Royal Mail can';t impose as much brute force as a 250 hitting a tree surely?

Isn';t the object of the exercise to *not* hit trees?  I think if we';re doing that then all bets are off anyway, even for the purdy things

Never underestimate RM';s resolve to squeeze something through the letterbox!  :banghead:

The components are near the centre of the place.  But you';re right, a well placed branch would still be able to shear off the SMDs.

mrmurder, sorry to hear about your board - hope you get it sorted without too much hassle.

Mine turned up safe today, but also with the buzzer not soldered in place.  I don';t remember reading that they would come unsoldered in the thread, but hey ho, I';m sure that 2 more solder joints won';t kill me (when I get around to ordering some more parts)!

I was surprised that it was in one piece with just a jiffy bag for protection though!

DebianDave

One would hope they';d survive a trip through the post. You are about to screw it into a flying brick, after all:)

Thats good news mate. hopefully nobody else will receive theirs broken, especially if you are unable to fix it yourself.

sending mine off today to Danny so hopefully between him and Tim, they will manage to sort it for me.

as for the buzzer overcraft has said he did not have them soldered on because some people were complaining of it messing with the mag on the full naze board and some people simply wanted to use their own buzzer. the good news is he has confirmed the batch 2 buzzer is not the same as the batch one and is louder than the latter. im yet to test that (obviously!) but if it is, that will be so much better.

Dal, would you like the buzzer on a flying lead or some pins fitted so you can use a JST plug for the buzzer?  Or shall we just mount it on the board and be done with?  I';ve got a bundle of JST leads I can substitute for hard soldered to the board, then you can place the buzzer where you like.

i didn';t put the buzzer in the envelope mate. i didnt want to take liberties and include it in the hope you would solder it for me!

its no big deal though,i will just mount it to the board. i don';t use the full naze so no issue with it messing with the mag for me. if you could fix the trace and reattach the capacitor for me that would be a massive help as those are a little beyond what im comfortable attempting really.

the board went off at lunchtime today mate so hopefully it will be with you tomorrow :crossfingers:

Thanks Danny

OK fella, I didn';t think of that beforehand, but as you say its going on an Acro thats not so important.

Will keep you posted on developments and get the board winging its way back to you as quick as poss.

I';ve ordered 2 boards for a new build in the new year from build number 3, these look ideal, my current wiring loom took ages to build

Hands0n

You';ll like these - there';s plenty of wiring taps all over the place for all manner of stuff, including the FPV gear - although I do worry a bit about EMI. Nothing a Low Pass filter wouldn';t help out with.
