Hello Everyone my name is Paul and I am very new to all layouts of Copters

I got a gopro 3+ for my annversary and whilst looking at what these can do.
I somehow got onto a quadcopter site and I was hooked.
Anyway I cannot fly any aircraft what so ever.
But my idea was the smaller it is the more twitchy it will be, so I went for bigger is better idea
all the motors on and all the wiring is done.
I have brought a hobbyking h.a.l 775mm and I have put it all together and installed all the motors and wiring together with the flight controlled and receiver.

I found some settings on youtube to get it going and it all starts up ok,
Does anybody have the proper settings to get a novice in the air.

Parts list that I have.
HK H.A.L 775mm Hexacopter

Spektrum Dx6i tx with rx

KK2.1 Flight control board

Prodrive 35-30 motors 1100kv

afro 30 amp esc';s

IS THERE A CERTAIN WAY IN HOW TO LEARN TO FLY ONE OF THESE OR IS IT JUST KEEP TRYING.
Also is there anyone or any clubs in the north devon or better still Barnstaple area

Thanks for reading   Paul...............

Get yourself a hubsan x4 to learn with, you will learn how to fly with one - good because you can fly indoors and get plenty of practice.
Make sure you put a towel or something over the tv screen, too easy to scratch it when you are learning!
Once you are confident with it try the big ';un, the hubsan costs considerably less to fix when you have an oops!

Thanks for the advice I will be going out tomorrow and get one.
Also regarding the towel over the tv, was that from experience then.

But you are correct about the larger machines being more stable, heli';s in particular.

You won';t regret the hubsan they are great fun! Yes towel over the tv is from experience but fortunately we';ve got a cat that used to paw the screen when anything took her interest......... so guess who got the blame ::)

I have the HAL quadcoopter, they are heavy but can take a hell of a beating.

However I do agree about starting on something smaller like the hubsan X4 first  ~~
Why use 4 motors when you can use 6?
