Hi Guys hoping some of you Bodgers and DIY savvy folk can help me ha

Ive a well set up RCT800/550 frame with a incredible flight time of over 20 mins. Im very happy with the Hex and it flys great. My next step is to somehow bolt my DYS 3 Axis gimbal and Sony Nex5. The Problem im having is that the landing gear i have is the long Tarot legs with the carbon beam that attaches the 2 legs together. This is the mounting point to the bottom of the f550 center plates. The DYS gimbal has 4 stand offs that are supposed to somehow attach to the bottom plate also. The problem is the Beam from the landing gear obscures both the mounting points and also the length of the standoffs wont clear that carbon support beam. Ive tried increasing the stand off distance with some longer m3 screws but it really isnt cutting it and isnt very stable. Ive looked into other landing gear like the aeroxcraft they look great but there isnt enough ground clearance with the Dys and Sony5.

If anybody can help that would be great. Ideally a off the shelf solution but i dont mind buying some bits to try and bodge ha. Thanks

Looking at it, you maybe on the right lines, but I would maybe consider cutting some 8mm tube or 10mm box section carbon and run a bolt through each, say 4mm should do.  That way the bolt goes through the bottom plate as well as the gimbal frame plate, pulling it all together.

Great idea thanks for that. Im not used to fiddling with small bodges that can';t be fixed with cable ties and gaffa tape ha.

Lol!  Well, I guess 3-5mm cable ties would do instead of bolts!  Just experiment, see what comes out best for least complexity.
