OK - well I started off with the KK ';black'; board then graduated to the one with the LCD screen the KK2 and they were fine enough.

Finally got a NAZA V.1 with GPS and that was a revelation - and then added a NAZA LITE with GPS.

As an incorrigible fettler at heart I am constantly changing things and my quad has now been stripped down and converted to an own design ply and aluminium mini H design and due to all the kerfuffle I';ve had with Receivers and the NAZA V.1 (reported elsewhere :-/) I';ve decided to have a go at something else as as a flight controller just for fun.

I';ve seen the names of things you all use .. Mobius - Naza - CC3D - MultiWii  & of course KK .. but most of those mean nothing to me ..

I have a hankering to try something new but at the moment I don';t have a NAZA type budget - so anything the thin end of very little ££ would be the first target ...

So - your mission - should you choose accept it ... is to recommend an easy set up - cheap - FC for a mini H quad and existing 3s Lipos from those listed or A N Other (Not KK - been there - want to try something new as a challenge).

We all tend to defend and promote the stuff we';ve used and had success with - so I am expecting some bias - but the majority will rule I think  :azn

AND - a thought - is it at all possible to use NAZA GPS unit on any other FC that';s GPS capable??

I';d set up a POLL ..but don';t know how to

if you want flies out the box ...Naze32

forget multiwii , there going out of fashion fast and they are by far the hardest to set up ( in my opinion)

Dont know about cc3d but as there now getting sold by hobbyking its probably not long before they start selling there full fat version which would be worth looking into.

Another vote for the Naze32.

Decent front end for setup, behaves predictably, lots of Naze users to give advice and cheap.

Just had to buy another after piling mine into the ground yesterday, the naze still works but the usb connector got torn off.

To me that says a lot (of good things) for the board regarding robustness

Another Vote for the Naze32

+ Cheap
+ Good GUI
+ Very configurable
+ Expandable - GPS, OSD, FrSky Telemetry etc
+ PIDs are good out of the box

And above all flies great, can handle aggressive proximity flying or relaxed smooth flights

CC3D gets my vote.  Out of the box into the air!

You can';t go wrong with the Naze32 or CC3D, both great out of the box. I';d say if you want to fly aggressive, go for the Naze32, if you like a slightly smoother ride, then go CC3D.

Another thumbs up for a naze32, I love mine on my mini, I';ve used them on my tri and big H too. A great little board and a bargain for the price ~~

There seem to be 2 Naze 32 versions -

One is Naze Full 32  at about £40 and the other is Naze Acro 32 at 1/2 that ??

Which one??

I';m not in the SLIGHTEST an aggressive flier and want ';smooth and steady wins the race'; every time  :azn

So CC3D or still Naze ??

Depends on the flying you want to do.

The more expensive one has a barometer and a compass, though due to the lack of useful gps functionality they don';t get used much.

Most people fly the cheaper Acro naze and you don';t have to fly the Naze aggressively.

I will probably be buying a cc3d for my next project to see what it';s like, but I do know that the Naze would definately do the job well.

The naze acro doesn';t have a barometer or compass, the full does. The naze will happily fly along smooth and steady or madly, like all boards, it';s just dependant on how far you push the sticks and turn the rates up lol.

XH558

Cheapo Naze sounds like a plan then ... Barometer & Compass seems superfluous to my needs - without GPS

Any advance on a Cheapo Naze  :azn :azn

And a link to where you would recommend I get one in the UK??

Is the soldering of the headers a pain or is it easy - and why aren';t they soldered out of the factory??

Some people prefer to solder direct to the board. Phil does provide a soldering service . I can vouch that it';s top notch.

A lot of people don';t bother with pins and simply solder the rx connections straight onto the board.

Also some people want straight rather than 90° ones so it';s left to the buyer

Soldering cant be too bad as I can manage it.

Thanks :D

I';ve got straight and 90 degree for motor pins, if you wanted, just let me know on the order, i';ve not listed the option as I';ve only got limited amount at the moment, but enough to do a few boards if people want straight instead of 90

good choice the acro naze32 is a very good board, pretty straight forward to setup and flies really nice.

Ordered the hard case and asked him to solder the pins on too
