Due to be hitting earth this weekend.

Anything for us to be concerned about?
I may be dumb, but my learning curve is high...

You probably don';t want to rely on your GPS too much.

What we are expecting is the result a coronal mass ejection (CME) and not a solar flare.  Think of it as the destructive power of the pyroclastic flow compared to lava during a volcanic eruption.

Conventional advice is to not use GPS functions if at all possible. If you do then be ready to switch to a non-GPS mode quickly should something go wrong

I got out on Saturday morning between 10 - 11:30 and took my pair of 250 quads with me (Hammer and 250 Pro). Thats Naze32 Full and CC3D respectively.  Not a GPS chip in sight ::)  The TBS Disco and Firefly (both APM 2.5, fully rigged) remained in the hangar (my study) safe from these nasty cosmic rays thingies ~~

Yeah, no point tempting fate Danny.  How u liking the CC3D?

I';m gagging to get the 250 back in the air, nights are drawing in, flight windows are noticeably shorter.

I';m quite liking the CC3D in the set up I have it in.  I';ve use OOTB PID, only going through the ritual calibration of FC and TX/RX.  Saturday, for the first time, I noticed ever such a slight oscillation on max throttle performing a vertical climb (showing off to my mate).  Ordinarily I never use full throttle and so at all times the CC3D handles the quad with great stability.   This is the first time since my first days with KK2 that I';ve used a manual FC with auto-level.

So far I have flown it mostly in Attitude mode (Baseflight/MultiWii equivalent is Angle mode).  I have yet to seriously kick the tyres of Rattitude (Horizon) mode. But I did have a flirtation with Rate (Acro) mode, and again it was very responsive and will take a bit of getting used to.

I think that using the Chinese clone CC3D is the way to go with this FC - it is not, in my opinion, worth the £70-odd that OpenPilot want to sell them for. At that price, for an Acro, I';d be better off buying a £20 Naze32 Acro.  Even with the clones it costs a few quid more for the CC3D.  And from what I read about OpenPilot it may well have a limited life yet as they focus on the Revo.
