Awesome :) What Corrado do you have? I had a G60 back in the day, was the envy of all my friends but the insurance and running costs nearly bankrupted my young, stupid self

I love going to the Pod.

First went about 30 years ago and saw Vanishing Point, don';t think anything can do the standing quarter quicker.

I was at the Pod when Sammy broke the British Speed record, went through the lights and only one chute opened!
Result, car spun out of control, rolled and got totalled. The late great (completely mad) Sammy got out with a twisted ankle, and went back to the start line to thunderous applause!!!!

RIP Sammy Miller!

Went down Santa Pod Race strip in my Mini with an engine I built: 1340cc - 256 Kent cam - Hi lift rockers - Posted cylinder head - RC40 single box exhaust - LCB manifold - MGT metro heated inlet manifold - lightened flywheel - 1 3/4" carb K n N 3.1:1 final drive, great for cruising (not good for strip race though lol)  Saw the Jet car a couple of times on ';Mini run meets'; at Santa Pod.

I actually cracked first gear on acceleration down the Santa Pod strip - I heard the crack lol - wasn';t till a week later the gear box totally locked up on a dual carriage way near Poole Dorset- weekend job to hoist out the engine and swap a gearbox. loved it!

One word describes watching a rocket propelled car doing the quarter in 3.5 seconds...

INCREDIBLE

I used to be a regular at the Pod when in my 20s and living in London.  Took my Fireblade there one year, back in 94. Did one of the "Run what you brung" sessions. The Suzuki GSX1000R were the track monsters that year. The short arsed Fireblade spent most of the 1/4 mile pawing the air with its front wheel!  I wasn';t slow, but the Gixer 1000s slaughtered everything that year.

The jet car is awesome - Always a bit of a mistake to  be anywhere rear of it when its warming up - that aviation fuel smell stays on your clothes, skin, hair for days! Loud too.

Love the Pod, a great place to go.

G60jet

I used to have a Corrado,  hence my screen name on here,   A G60 JET special edition.   Loved the think,   sold it when i moved back from spain.  wish i had kept it.

Supersprint exhaust, stage 5 chip and charger, lowered, strut braces.  handled like it was on rails.  and just the perfect exhaust note,  not loud boy racer style but more like a low purrrrrrrrrr.
