How deep are ur pockets ?? Another overpriced platform ...this is just another company cashing in on the emerging market in uav tech !! Was at farnborough last week and the number of companies selling uav tech was very impressive but most was just silly prices. I saw one quadcopter that to be honest was no better than a DJI phantom and was priced at 25,000 dollars... If you want something special but dont want to break the bank PM me...

All the best rob
life is too short to worry about what others think !!!

Pockets sowed up long ago!

Was interested from a business perspective...ditching the day job and jumping on the gravy train seems appealing!

If you';re going to do it, and you have an idea, then you';ve got to move quickly and get in there before someone else does.  From what I';ve seen so far, much seems to lack innovation and lots of repeated ideas, some good, some quite bad really.  De-skilling flying to a PDA and index finger approach seems to be getting more the norm. Thus allowing semi-skilled operators to use the aircraft to do "stuff".   But I don';t see too much, if anything, in the way of hazard detection and avoidance which is where I believe the regulators are going to mandate for civilian business use.  Safety is going to be the watchword. Yet how much autonomy is being built in to UAS/UAV/WHY to provide safety over and above the operator?

At the moment, too much form over substance. Strictly IMHO of course ;)

What would I like to see? I';d seriously like to see some of the robotics demonstrated in University labs (ie. Ted Talks) incorporated into UAS with an array of sensors to give a near-fully autonomous safety response to flying commercially.  These UAV would perform autonomous hazard detection and avoidance. They would also have built-in redundancy to allow for continued flight should one or more motors fail. And they would have power redundancy, to not drop out of the sky if a single cell or battery pack failed, but find a safe place to land and send out a homing/distress signal to the operator so recovery can be made.

If you build one of those for sale ... do remember this old fella ;)

Although at this rate I will probably never find out!

there';s also a Scottish company doing this sort of thing for the oil rigs and industrial work up there and they fly 20 grands worth not including gps battery';s are ground station

Lets not undervalue our knowledge, skills and back up. all cost';s.....

let alone the ongoing bills every month. Those working out a shed and charging not enough will not be around for long.

Only when one looses sight of your toy does FPV become fun and against legislation already in place.

I like the prop guard,

maybe someone could do a 3d printed on for the f550 ~~

I';ve seen them on a few occasions ... The do flare inspections mostly!

Its much cheaper and easier than hiring a full sized chopper and hanging a camera out the door!
