I could think of a few uses in my industry where this could be very handy... You can use flir for heat and we also used to use it for monitoring gas clouds

from what i understand FLIR camera';s only have a limited range so will probably be no use for SAR missions, the tech needed is a cheapo version that is used on all the police helicopters which use a passive infra red system..

We used to use a handheld FLIR Resolution wasn';t great but it did the job we needed!

Surely the point of the multi is it can get closer than a full sclae chopper??
