S800 evo drift

Hi guys I have an s800 evo with A2 and when I yaw it drifts really bad I then get a few white lights, if I then let go of controls (throttle in the middle) it then goes back to where I started yawing.

The copter is well balanced, I';ve re calibrated the compass, I';m fresh out of ideas the copter flys beautifully apart from this. I have my flight test coming up and would like it 100% for that.

Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated cheers al

I have the same setup Allen. Does the drift occur in Atti mode, GPS hold mode or both...?

My craft does drift slightly when yawing quickly but only by perhaps a metre or so at most. Not sure what the white light is telling you. I';d suggest calling DJI European Support in Germany, but when I did that, they weren';t that useful. Seems they concentrate on Phantoms and anything bigger is an unknown.

For info, I always re-calibrate the compass:

- Before the first flight of the day
- If the platform has been stored in the back of a car, van, trailer or other iron box.
- If the platform has been moved more than a few hundred yards between flights
- If I get a calibration error LED light (never have to date though)

When calibrating, take off any metal jewellery and leave your wallet, watch, phone etc. well away.

Cheers,

Rup

Hi was out with it tonight, re calibrated the compass and switched somer arms around, it is a bit better but still drifts. Do you have your imu on the back above the battery tray? If so what have you put in the software for your measurements for the imu and the gps? Cheers al

Apologies Allen, I';ve been off the forum a few weeks due to work commitments. My IMU is above the battery tray in the stock position, yes. All my settings are the standard DJI recommended figures. I can check, but don';t know what they are off the top of my head.
