Anyone fly the CineTank?

Ok getting closer to the frame decision I had narrowed it down to the Flip FPV Pro for durability and clean/dirty G10 frame.

Then I saw this CineTank. I Like the honeycomb side plates to give strength but shame the arms are not G10 or alu.

So availability aside anyone on here flying this and what are thought against the HT Flip FPV Pro?

My ideal is still the QAV500/400 just really nervous to spend that much on something I am going to crash and it sounds highly strung for a beginner to fpv.

Ground Engineer

If you';ve never flown quads before it';s going to be a while before your going to able to test the strengths and weaknesses of various top end quads that you are quoting.
Frames: Blackout Mini H V2, TBS Disco, TBS Caipirinha,Tarot Ironman 650, Q450, Tricopter D.W design.
FC's: Naze 32 GPS, Naza M Lite GPS, APM2.5 GPS, KK2.1, KK
FPV: Skyzone FPV Goggles, GoPro Hero 3+ Black, Sony Super HAD 600 TVL

Ground Engineer

In that time your going to crash your quad nearly every time you fly it. Most of the damage will be propellers at first because you won';t be going high and fast. I think it';s more important to spend your money on a flight controller that is easy to set up and it';s very stable. So I would recommend getting a Naxa Lite without GPS 20Amp esc';s Simonk flashed and some sunny sky 980kv motors. Buy a cheap F450 type frame and learn how to fly. When you mastered the basics get your Q450 and swap your fc, esc and motors over to it.
Frames: Blackout Mini H V2, TBS Disco, TBS Caipirinha,Tarot Ironman 650, Q450, Tricopter D.W design.
FC's: Naze 32 GPS, Naza M Lite GPS, APM2.5 GPS, KK2.1, KK
FPV: Skyzone FPV Goggles, GoPro Hero 3+ Black, Sony Super HAD 600 TVL

Ground Engineer

If you buy an expensive frame you will be scared to fly it in fear of damaging it and it will take you linger to learn

Thanks for your advice.  I don';t have any fpv experience but I do have flying exp and thought it might translate.  I have flown full sized gliders and SEP';s for 15 years on and off.  I have 4 years LOS 3d flying on fixed wings and cant fly (non 3d) heli';s.  Have lots of sim time (100';s on rc 10,000';s fixed and rotary full sized sims) oh and can throw the hubsan x4 about in expert without crashing.  Is this all transferable to a multi or will there still be learning to do?

Ground Engineer

Sorry misunderstood.  When I was looking for an FPV frame I had my heart set on the QAV400.

At the last minute I decided to get a TBS Discovery because I read on a few forums that aluminum arms interfere with the signal strength (this is probably disinformation from rival frame manufacturers).

CineTank and QAV look similar but I think QAV looks much better.  Also Im not a fan of cylindrical carbon fiber arms because they always seem to rotate slightly resulting in the props not all being horizontal.

Thank you Ground Engineer, you have just ended my thread as I had not noticed the tubular arms. Hate that so its not a consideration.

Have you considered a hoverthing flip 360 simular to the qav 400 but has folding arms has a very nice gopro enclosure. you could start with a hobbyking f330 frame cost about £7 and buy all the gear to make that up then when you have the basics and a bit of confidence it will all swap strait over. thats what I did and im extremely happy with the flip 360 frams

Hey guys,

I would just like to clarify that our round arms have holes CNC drilled and the mounts have pins molded into them that make the mounts\arms self-align.  If you want to follow us, our official thread is located here - http://fpvlab.com/forums/showthread.php?23474-Introducing-the-CineTank-Mk.I

We have also released a few other products and add-ons for the CineTank Mk.I

Hi Terabyte and welcome to the forum. I do love your cinetank and can be convinced to get over my views on tubular arms. Do you have any uk distributors?

johnraiders

Hi

UK seller is mentioned on their website, but it';s like pricing from the dark ages, dollars = pounds, also looked at one in Germany but same  pricing format.
So I bought a TBS from these forums, can';t wait.

Thanks

John
