Hi.

Apologies if this has already been covered, but does anyone have any experience of this gimbal unit?
i.e. is it an inferior copy.  What would delivery be like.  Anyone in the UK stock these? etc.

Any informed info is helpful!

Also, what is the advantage of servo powered gimbals over a brushless one and is setup hard?

Thanks!

Sorry for the late reply.

I have one of these.

My thoughts on it are:
Pros - strong and powerful servos mean it can carry a variety of payloads, not just one specific camera type.
It';s extremely well built
It comes with long landing gear so you don';t have to worry about ground clearance

Cons - it doesn';t come with a controller meaning you have to drive the servos with something like your flight controller.
Servos are no where near as fast reacting as brushless motors. In general flying this isn';t too huge a deal but you won';t get as good results as a brushless for video. For stills though it';s fine, I';ve done numerous stills jobs with this gimbal and it';s great.

The servos are true 360 degree jobs. Personally I don';t use the yaw axis one (as I don';t have a way of controlling it), I just point the airframe at the target.

I paid a substantially higher price than the current price. If I could convert it to brushless I probably would, although the power of the servos would mean you';d have to spend much more time balancing payload comparatively.
