Mobius Jello! arrrgghhhhhh

Flippin'; mobius seems like a delicate little flower! lol.  I can';t quite get rid of the jello when it';s on my tricopter. If I put the gopro on it it';s jello free  I use 100g rated(really soft) dampening balls for the gopro, I know the mobius is half the weight and that obviously changes things, I tried out all of the different rated balls I have this afternoon. I';m afraid it';s filmed through the window as it was raining outside but you will get the idea. The props are well balanced, motor shafts straight, bearings OK but I haven';t balanced the motors themselves, maybe I need to do that?

If my back garden looks like a building site it';s because it is, we';re building an extension

I know you are using dampening balls but how are you securing the mobius to the plate?

xxpitt

Try the mobius on same balls as the gopro and add weight to mobius to make it weigh the same. Prob won';t help much but worth a go. Its the higher frame rate of gopro that helps gopro with the vibes

guest2350

I was thinking maybe try strapping down it with an elastic band to put more pressure down into it? Maybe worth a try?

Its strapped down with a velcro battery strap. It';s very secure and cannot rattle about.

Xxpit, yeah might try that. Kind of defeats the object of having a mobius but would be interesting to see.

What I meant was elasticate the camera plate with the air frame, which would in turn act like extra weight on the camera plate!
Worth a try  ::)

Hands0n

What frame rate are you recording in the Mobius?  Higher frame rates can help with jello up to a point.

It doesn';t so much help as spread the jello so theres less on each frame lol. I';m using 720, I think I need to balance the motors,, first I may try adding a fith ball to my camera plate. Or just use the bloody gopro

I had similar problems and found its the weight that was the issue,
my mobius is now housed in the waterproof case from joovue with the lens removed.
its not waterproof but more crash resistant.

Carbon Tricopter with KK2 mini because you have to own a Tri and Falcon Evo FPV (rebuild again) with fatshark 600mw vtx & pz2040 cam. New addition (hidden from the missus!) 250 quad.

Yeah, weight is the problem, I';ll try Jamies suggestion of a lazzy band to add a bit of tension. Can';t try it tonight, would wake the kids up, lol

Maybe you could try one in each corner pulling down but out to the corners then that would be like anti vibe in itself with each band pulling against each other

Unfortunately the lighter your camera the more jello it will be susceptible to. Newtons law f=Ma, the higher the mass the larger the force needed to change its direction (speed is velocity, velocity is a vector quantity, and a change in velocity is defined as acceleration) hope that makes sense? (It';s harder to change the direction of a larger mass).

Anyhoo, I';m currently adding an extra floating plate to my f550 to which I';m attaching my battery (4400mah 3s) and my camera, this should effectively add the weight of the battery to the camera, the physics is sound, it should massively reduce the jello on my videos. Obviously well balanced motors and props help.

id recommend moving your flight pack to the rubber ball mount and attach your modius to the top of your battery

adding the extra weight to stop jelly but add no extra flying weight to your machine

g1dtf

Does the added weight need attaching to camera itself or can it be attached to the camera plate/gimbal at the camera side of the anti-vibe balls.

I originally had mine mounted like this before I made a complete clean section.
