Nice to be here, thanks!

my first FPV quad feiyu was with factory leds:

I liked the leds on this quad because it gave me feedback about battery status by changing bottom white led flash frequency. I m qurious that rabbit firmware could do the same with leds?

my first FPV video with this quad, but not with Rabbit FC , i used FY90Q, only autobalance function.
next will be the rabbit
FPV feiyu X4 quadcopter, Fy90Q FC maiden flight

Hi Ltomi78 and welcome to the forum, yes you can supply the 12v led strips with + positive direct from the 3s flight lipo the same one powering the esc';s,
And then connect the - negative wires to the rabbit as show in the diagrams,
If your using 5v then you can take the 5v supply from one of the bottom pins shown in the diagram and again all the negatives to the rabbit controller,
Feel free to share any pictures or videos you might have with the rest of us, because we do love to see other peoples machines and flying videos  ~~

Please dont hesitate to ask if you need any further help  ~~

Hi Gaza!

Some question arroused again about led connections. Some of my friends notify me that it could be dangerous connecting many leds to drive by the board, I mean connection to led drive pins, because it can overburden the board. They say all the led drive pins are connected directly to the processor out on the board.
Do you think it can couse a problem? How many leds can be connected to safely diretly to the board without using additional IC like ULN2803?
With how many leds did you test the board? Did you use Uln2803 or it can be left out.
I would like to use 4 maximum five HK-s strips which has 6- leds on each, so altogether about 24-30 leds will be driven by the board.

Thanks

As far as I know there are some switching transistors under the main led';s on the board and the led';s are switched from there, also your only switching the negative, I had 8 led strips on mine 1 each side of the 4 arms on the quad, with 9 led';s per strip so a total of 72 led';s, and it run no problem, there was a thread about this before, where some one used the uln chip but it was discovered it wasn';t needed,
If you look back through the rabbit thread on RCG you should be able to find the info and a picture showing the transistors, only make the connections once you are happy it is the correct way  ~~

This has got to be the best thread on any forum with information about the Rabbit';s LED connections. The images you produce Gaza07 to explain how to do it are so detailed and exacly what I was looking for and needed.

Thank you so much
