Emax 4 in 1(Stumped)

Hi
Have fitted Emax 4 in 1 in my quad frame. Calibrated and tested without props prior to installation and all fine. Installed inbetween the plates, connected up with blades on, armed and 1 motor fired up with others twitching. Took it apart in case it was too tight or something in the frame was affecting it but no it still didn';t work properly.
Out of sheer frustration I flicked a prop and hey presto it fired up and so did the others with a flick.
Hence the title (Stumped)
Anyone any ideas ';cause it just seems really strange.
Regards
Roy

Roy, are you using APM? There is a parameter for armed motor spin speed, you just need to increase it a little bit. The APM setting of "Very Low" doesn';t always work too well.

Motors twitching is usually a sign of a bad motor connection to the ESC, usually you would only get one and a quick reconnect or heat up of the joint with a soldering iron will fix it, very unusual to get the same thing with three of them, HandsOn may very well be right if your using the APM , the same could be correct for the KK2.x board you need to increase the idle speed to get them to spin up (i think its the idle speed parameter, been a while since i used one.)

Thanks guys
It is an APM. Will check idle speed and increase it a little.
All the connections are tight as being a 4 in 1 they';re not soldered but have a screw connection.

Hi Danny
Not 100% sure what to change in params. Couldn';t find anything that said idle speed.
Found arming speed as slow and increased it to fast but it made no difference.
Is there something else or am I doing it wrong.

That was the parameter I had in mind. In abroad right now so working from memory alone :-)

If that';s not done the trick then I';m not sure it';s an FC issue.

Reading up loads on these as really struggling to calibrate them.
It seems that apparently there are some ESCs that are not compatible with an APM board?
Has anyone here used one with an APM?
Cheers
