Thank you all.

I started off in this hobby/sport/obsession/financial deep pit/adrenalin because my son in Australia bought a Phantom a few months back.  I had never heard of hobby drones before. He got me interested to the point of me selling some of my photographic kit to get a Phantom too. I already had a GoPro H3

I did a net search for a DJI dealer and found BOYD. Martin questioned my needs & wants and suggested the F450 instead – I am not sorry to have been a willing listener to very logical reasons why I should spend more money with him!

I had to start literally from scratch. I had no radio controller, charger or any experience. It was great fun building the 450 and learning about the science of multi rotor flight. (And the pit falls & dangers too!)

I was starting to get results that I was after – being able to fly slowly and get videos of the Somerset countryside. It soon became apparent that my set-up was not as smooth as I wanted & that I needed more experience and an understanding of the science underlying all of the bits and pieces.

That is where you lot came into the equation! The help and advice I received directly from my various newcomer questions ... and the indirect help by reading the posts has enhanced my knowledge and piqued my interest.

ABOVE ALL, I have come to realise what a great bunch of guys you lot are.  I just wish I could meet you each, shake you by the hand and say a heartfelt "Thank You"

just kidding mate, it`s always good to be part of a great community. ive been on some forum`s (mainly cars) where the moment you show a lack of knowledge in a particular area you get shot down in flames. isn';t that the reason we join a forum? to share knowledge and experience with others?.
So far this has to be one of the most friendly forums I have joined and it has been a pleasure!

What I really like about this forum is the sheer diversity of knowledge and experience everyone has. I';ve been lucky enough to make good friends from joining on here and for me its confirmed that its a hobby that I would like to develop into something more serious.

I agree ... Great forum full of great people !!! And donald as soon as the weather gets better i want to step over the border and do some filming in somerset especially at the stone circle you filmed ...
