I fly mode 2,  thinking of switching the rudder and ailerons around. Has anyone done this is it? Is it easier to fly

I believe DarrellW flies mode 1?

I';m used to mode 2, so think I';ll stick with it myself!

Whatever way you have the controls layed out on your TX, nothing will make flying easier other than practice ~~

Why use 4 motors when you can use 6?

Fair enough, I suppose practise does make perfect. I might take it into an empty shop unit in the shopping centre I work in. Just so i can trim it without wind

Yes, that';s true, but I remember Darrell saying he felt it was easier to fly mode 1, it';s a coordination thing, maybe to do with being right or left handed?

Technically that';s not mode 1, I am pretty sure it';s mode 4 (throttle and ailerons on the left stick and elevator and rudder on the right) to do this you would need a tx that will do it, quite a few don';t.
As others have said it';s what you get used to - it will not help with inexperience. I migrated from mode 2 to mode 1 when I changed from flying helicopters to planes because I just didn';t get on with mode 2, I still fly mode 1 with my quads because I don';t want it to mix me up when I fly my planes!

right so Mode 1 then

The problem you will find and depending on how long you have been flying is that when things go wrong you brain reverts to what it knows ie Mode 2

Example I can fly mode 1 at a push and I mean a push but when stuff goes wrong my brain does auto switch back to mode 2 and its not pretty after that :)

its not easy to unlearn a mode your used to

Although my radio does support this, I thought all I would have to does swap the servo leads around.

You could do that to try it out but it';s not good practice to do it permanently - too easy to forget what you';ve done after a while!
