hello every1 ive just broken the usb on my cirus board i was using it for fpv as it had loiter (put gogs on) return to home (when im lost)

but having said that the flight was a little rough and the gps was hit and miss arm test disarm retest

so my question is what board would you recommend for me and why its going on a 450 dji flame wheel clone for a fpv rig it needs gps just for peace of mind lose signal put it up high and hit rth switch in my opinion is fantastic

so pease open my eyes to whats what and how well it dose

If the crius doesn';t do it for you (it does for me! ) a Naza lite + gps would probably be your best option purely from the point of view of it being reliable.

got to be a naza of some sort, i had the lite for a while and was very impressed with its features, ease of use and it never played up at all though i don';t fly it for long, the GPS hold once its fully locked is pretty amazing.

thanks nub i have a naza lite on a dji f330 and gps is great but just wanted to know if there';s more out there i no off kk2 and cirus and naza and just recently learned of a flip 1.5 (no gps) so what others are good sub 100 pounds

nub

u could also have a look at the APM 2.5 and the newer version the name escapes me at the moment, sure someone else will say something about it, i fly a flyduino nanowii, great little cheap board (£40) GPS can be added i think but i';m not 100% sure.

HowDoIfly

APM 2.5 has been superceded by 2.5.2 (sames as 2.5 basically) and 2.6 (about £45) which has no on-board compass. You can buy an external compass with GPS called the CN06+ for it. The next step up is the PX4 and Pixhawk but they';re not sub-£100 (yet) and still in the early development stages.

Thanks guys amp 2.5 is it OK good solid performer are has it got problems I';m at work now but will read up on it more when I get home

HowDoIfly

APM is a bit geeky as it';s highly configurable and can require a fair bit of work to set it up right, compared say to a Naza, though it will fly without tuning (once all';s been calibrated).

I like it because of this, some don';t.

The firmware and development has matured with no known bugs though the developers feel there';s not much more they can improve on it and are focusing more on the PX4 and Pixhawk as it';s a more powerful platform.

I';m a DJI sucker myself, but I if I ever strayed to the ';dark side';, I would consider using a Multiwii (or one of it';s may variants), I';ve seen great things done with them, and I believe they do all the 3D stuff as well.  Certainly a leap above the humble KK1..2..3 etc.
