Filming Fireworks.

Some of you may know, but I work in the pro pyro industry, and today there was the perfect site for filming fireworks from the multirotor. I dont like doing it caus of huge crowds, displays are long and I dont want to have to miss part of it, and some of the effects we use could endanger the uav.

Today however we were doing a christmas lights switch on in Abingdon, and we had a shells only show, and a huge locked off park area with security guards all round it all to ourselves, so the F550 rig got a chance to fly in the dark.

Ive never done this before so I quickly stuck some white LED strips on so we could see it.

Altitude was 400 feet. Some of our bigger shells go to about 1500 feet.

Top job.  You must be pleased with the results.  Also I bet you gave a sigh of relief once you landed after the display he he.

Hi big belly,

That';s a great video, thanks for posting that

I was relived when the last shell went and the hex came down and landed ok. I just flew it today though and one of the motors is making a strange noise, and it doesn';t feel right. I';m wondering if a bit of fireworks debris went in a motor? Gonna replace it.

The guy I filmed this for wants his own one so I';m building him one, exclusively to film fireworks.:-D

Pete.

HI,

Hope all is well for you.

My freind Peter (another one) who also lives in Maidenhead has a tilting rotor tri copter which is quite cool too...

XamaX

Brilliant. You have confidence in your rig and displays!

And here I am, this was the start of my keen interest in Multi Rotor flying, very pleased to have my completed setup now thanks to Pete. Going to be hard letting go of the firing system and control of our displays in exchange for flying the hex to film the display!
