newbie question guys
Can someone ex-plane what these three position do
and how thew are used in flying
im a nervous flyer it took me some time to fly fixed wing
on the quad i get to half throttle and stop when my bum cheeks clench lol

Hi Steve,

If I read your question right ... in summary

1 Manual  - Entirely up to you, no input from the flight controller (FC), all stick movements will cause the aircraft to do whatever you tell it to. Its your job to keep it level etc.

2. Alt (I presume you mean Alt Hold) - the FC will attempt to maintain the altitude of the aircraft despite anything you do with it regarding Pitch and Roll control stick movements. To do so it will speed up or slow down the motors as required to maintain the altitude.

3. GPS - In this mode the FC will attempt to maintain its geographic position fairly tightly if you let the Pitch/Roll sticks go, that is there will be no movement left/right/forward/backward. The FC will compensate for wind/breeze to keep the aircraft stationary as it possibly can.  You can, however, still fly about by moving the control sticks, and when you release them the aircraft will hold at that new position.

Some FCs will let you use combinations of Stabilise (Atti), Alt Hold and GPS.
