Ouch!  :o  So did it just suddenly veer off to the left on its own accord?

What FC are you using, and if it was under any kind of GPS mode (GPS ATTI for Naza, Loiter for APM, GPS_Hold for MultiWii etc.) did/do you let it "warm up" for three minutes before the first flight?

Don';t worry too much about it, we all do it - it was unlucky but could have been easily avoided if you had been flying in an open space. I';ve done something similar that ended up with me getting a bill for the repair of a car roof, I don';t fly near houses or cars anymore!

Naza-M V2 latest firmware etc GPS Mode. It sat ther on the ground, waited for sat lock and the rapid flashes and then the double greens... This is what I have done on all my flights. This flight was the same procedure.

It took off ok, hovered a while, I started to rotate, when it decided all by itself with no help from me, to head rapidly for the neighbour';s roof.

In my earlier flights, I have had a few frights but learnt to go for height quickly to clear from any obstructions and that gave me thinking time and time to get a grip of things. But this flight, I forgot to go for height, I slowed the motor down. Ouch, crash bang wallop!

EDIT: I hasten to add that after sticking the GPS dome back on the stork, I did a test flight from the same spot and it hovered & flew perfectly. I an processing the video at the moment!

Fortunately, I';ve not shared Darrell';s and your experience (if you don';t count the total loss flyaway earlier this year that is goodness knows where).

There is some "conventional advice" from Peter King, who has demonstrated the effect, to allow the GPS approximately 3 minutes before first flight (or if any significant time gap between flights).  This is to allow it to fully acquire the satellites and do its other bits and bobs before committing.  That veer could have been the beginnings of the so-called Toilet Bowl effect taking place.   Its just a thought, I can';t say 100% for sure thats what it was.  But in the absence of anything else ..   :hmm:

These flying thingamyjigs certainly liven up one';s day

You add to the bank of evidence justifying my Naza V2 fc not being given any GPS module! I don';t trust these electronics that think for themselves!
