Go Pro Hero3 Black Edition Question

Hi Guys, I';ve just got a Hero 3 black edition. I have successfully updated the camera firmware but my question is does the wifi remote have firmware and if so does it need updating.  I followed the instructions for updating on the Go pro web site which does not tell you turn on the wifi, however I noticed the final part of the update process showed on the camera display a series of radiating arcs similar to those you get from the wifi remote when it is searching.  Second question, should there be a cover for the "hero port" on the back of the camera?  Sorry if these are dumb questions.

I wouldn';t use Wifi on your multi if your running 2.4ghz control freq

No there is no cover for the I/O port that I am aware of
