Like many I broke the USB port off my board and now have to use an FTDi adapter...  therefore have been looking at ways to protect my USB ports on the FC';s I use.

Sourced some short USB cables with right angled adapters... you can get them in micro and mini USB formats... also to convert micro to USB etc.. for a few pounds well worth it.. I got this one on Ebay..

Will cable tie the cable under the frame....so I can get at the port without taking any covers off etc.. so also more useful

My fix for a similar issue on a different board was to blob a tiny amount of epoxy on either side of the USB port to reinforce where it attaches to the flight controller. As long as you don';t get epoxy inside the plug this should work ok - at least it did for me.

One circlip short of a quadcopter.
1 lobe short of an antenna.

Both good ideas I had already thought about using a short adapter type lead and cable tie it to the frame, but never actually got round to doing it  ~~
