The naza really is very stable but at a price and how long before you get bored looking at it hovering over your tx  I also notice most of these videos are made on non windy days lets see it do it in a good breeze

guess it all depends on what you want to do with your quad/hex.  If aerial photography or video is your thing then its good to have a good stable platform.

Quad vs wind

I have since had both the quad and the hex out in 27mph wind and it handled fine. Wobbly, terrifying, my heart stopped every time there was a gust, but it was remarkably stable for the conditions.

I see your using the dx6i. have you set your return to home on a switch and does it work if you loose signal?

Its not the transmitter that does that, its the receiver. Its a feature called Preset failsafes and its a pain in the arse to find, spektrum dont really mention it as a feature, some have it some dont. My quad has an ar600something in it, no preset failsafes. The hex has an 8000 which does have preset failsafe.

Basically you plug the bind plug in, power it on then unplug the bind plug, then do the bind with the switches set to fail. Its annoying my quad wont do it, it always worries me slightly...

as per above, you have to use an AR8000Rx to do "proper" failsafe on Spektrum.  Mine is set to failsafe with two switches mixed and yes also on power off of tx.  Took a bit of faffing around to set switch positions on failsafe but got there in the end.

Don't bother on anything less than an AR8000 as it will do "smartsafe" which is all well and good for a plane, but no good for switch position memory.

Tested mine power off the other night.

i have a spectrum ar7010 and failsafe works fine so as they clam to be the same thing and description seems to state it I'm gona stick my neck out and say they will be fine but i would stick with spectrum just for the customer service 8000 is good but if you need to save space 7010 is a fair bit smaller
