edit - after watching the whole thing he actually does like the radio - just thinks it missed a few opportunities to be much better than it is.

Yeah.. have read the mixed reviews.. 
$49 / £31.69 without modules.. think will live with it .. lol..   
Gimbals are better than 9x..    buttons are the biggest problem.. but can change these for micro switches easily

It';s a shame they';ve messed up the ergonomics slightly but it does sound like a good radio for the price - very similar to the previous one (unsurprisingly).
