...on the way from BYOD.

I might be using it on my chainlink UHF system and see what sort of range I can get with my FPV gear :)

Just hope I have enough battery to get back on failsafe.

It's not all sunshine and roses just yet...from the research I've just done, it would appear that it doesn't support Tricopter configuration.

And you all know how much I love my tricopter.

I might have to re-build a quad...I used three of the esc's/motors from my original "Quadfather" to build my current tri so I've got the bits, I was just hoping to keep the tri chassis as it folds down to almost nothing, and I didn't really like the quad, but maybe the naza will change my mind about quads.

Just had a quick look in the naza assist program, it will do Y6 but not normal tri.

Welcome to the exclusive club ;-) Did you get the GPS as well?

Balders

yes, went for the GPS version. He was aiming to get it out in today's post, so hopefully it'll be here for the weekend.

Just set up our second naza, dont forget that to arm the system you need to do both sticks bottom left.

Balders

I've printed the manual out from the website, and will have a read today.

Am I right in thinking the props start to spin as soon as you "arm" it? Unlike the likes of KK boards which the props are stopped until you throttle up post arming?

Gav

yup they spin up when you arm.  no stickmovement for 3 seconds and they shut off again.

Balders

Well, it fly's!

2nd battery ever and this is the result in GPS hold on a windy day!

It kinda feels a bit like cheating :)

Yes, that does look good! I am so tempted by that. The APM2 that i have has some 'issues' which I am having trouble resolving, but that looks steady!

ice.

Balders

Thanks guys.

I had another little bit of success tonight in the setup.

Have set it now to switch into manual rather than atti mode, I just found atti a bit restrictive...if I want it to autolevel I'll flick it into GPS mode and that should sort it out.  Also I managed (with some fiddling) to get my Rx to accept a proper power off failsafe mode from the Tx, so if I lose signal it should pop into failsafe and fly home to papa :)

Next is to test all this, and then after that, install my UHF system and FPV gear and get some distances out of the thing and get it to return home on it's own...that's gonna be freaky through the goggles :)

Another good vid Balders, Its mind boggling to fly in that strength wind and to put your trans down, the next test is fail safe but dont forget it does climb to 20 meters and take fresh pants.

Balders

haha, yeah I am aware of the climb thing, but so far it's very confidence inspiring.

My back garden is very cramped and it struggled to pick up a GPS lock until I just flew it up a bit over the house on the first battery through it. After then it was fine and you've seen the results of the second battery but I switched it back to atti when I got fairly low down.

Not had chance to test today (people round and now they've gone it's raining) so might have a look at quad building this afternoon (or what's left of it).
