Definately build one mate!!! That looks like a great idea and the results are easily trackable using the logs. Really interesting.

If you could build something like that 5mm center hole and about the size of the thick washer that sits above the prop that would be pretty cool ... question is can you put enough weight in something that small ?

a little tape is normally enough to sort out most motors so I guess maybe 5 1mm balls inside some tube, as suggested just washer size would likely sort it .

Build it and they will come ... or in this case if it works build it and I bet you would have a good market :)

OK :), I';ve worked out a process and ordered some materials to see if I can make it work, watch this space as they say.

A big thank you to all who have contributed to this thread, some great advice here.

Fed up with the jello on my video, and now that I';m running an fpv set up  i thought it was time to tackle my vibration issue, i have spent an age balancing my props previously, which had reduced the jello, just not enough. So reading through this thread gave me some ideas.

So props off and my quad stood on a level surface ran the motors up to half throttle (about where i know it hovers) and felt each arm for vibration, two were not bad, one was awful and the other somewhere in between.

So following the advice on this thread, i was about to add a piece of tape to one of the motors to see if it improved things, when i noticed that unlike my other DJI motors these ones have stickers on them rather than the DJI logo laser engraved into them, mmm, took the stickers off and the first two motors vibration had reduced to nearly nothing, the not so bad motor had its sticker removed and a small piece of tape put on the opposite side to where the sticker had been and that was that one sorted. The last one with the worst vibration, tried all of the above, still the same. Then i noticed that the bell was lifting, probably not even 1mm, so motor off loosened the grub screw and tried to push the motor shaft into the bell housing, just by hand was no good, a gentle tap with a small hammer (can you use the word ';gentle'; in the same sentence as ';hammer';??) saw it move and then i tightened the grub screw checked to make sure the bell was not lifting, refitted to the frame and went through the previous procedures.

I have no way of measuring but i reckon i';ve reduced the vibration by at least 75%, for 90 minutes of perseverance.

Its dead still outside, but with a heavy mist, ill have to wait to test it out  :(

Where theres a will, theres a way!  Its surprising how little needs done to get a huge improvement in vibe reduction. ~~
