Gimbal Power

Right having order a hero3 next step is a brushless gimbal.

Probably a toss up between the new Tarot or RC timer with associated controller.

Question is power source.  I run 4S on the quad. Can i run these via a 12V BEC or will i need a separate 3S lipo (IE add weight to the set up) ?

Also on these gimbals when you use the RC to control pitch does the gimbal retain full stability control un like the servo gimbals that run out of travel ?

Thanks

The AlexMos boards will run quite happily direct off a 4s LiPo. No BEC';s, filters etc required.

If using the RC to alter pitch or roll your only limits are the length of the motor and sensor wires.

If YOU can fly it, I CAN crash it.

rctimer board runs from up to 6S quite happily.

Yup.
