Hi,

I have a VTX transmitter bought from Aliexpress and have been searching any info about the two empty wires, one Green and one white, and how to use them.

The Green wire connects to a port SA = SmartAudio and the white one connects to Audio.

Now so far if I am right SA SmartAudio is to connect it somewhere on a controller with a Smartaudio connector...

Now my question, what can I do with the white wire?

Just guessing, I connect the white wire to the positive of a microphone and the negative pole of the microphone to ground? Would that give me audio in my videos?

I know perhaps this sound stupid but I am a beginner with all this VTX and VRX and F stuff so please do not laugh  :embarrassed:

Thanks and regards Rainer

Its an "old school" VTX from the days when some cameras had microphones and an additional output.

No reason it won't be OK.

Can it connect as you suggest?  Likely it could.

Personally the noise of a working quad isn't usually useful or good to listen to!

Hi,

Thanks. Will use the music of a friend who composes...

:beer2:

I bought this VTX with camera as it came with a 7" monitor with DVR capability.

I am looking out now to maybe get a better Camera. This one is only 1200TVL. I have seen some 1500TVL but not more at the moment. Will keep searching.

Digital at the moment is a bit expensive.

Hi,

Any tips for finding quickly the best channel combination or is this a Trial&Error excercise?

Thanks Rainer

Firstly check what is legal in your country.

Secondly, most VTX output power drops as the frequency rises, so for example if the VTX
is set to 200mW, Raceband1 will output slightly higher power than say Raceband3.

Thirdly, avoiding the normal WiFi band will likely give a cleaner signal, especially in urban areas.

Adopt the process of turning on the goggles/screen/headset and checking for other users or interference, then avoid!

Hi and thanks,

QuoteFirstly check what is legal in your country.

So far everything is forbidden and allowed    :whistling: I live in Mexico. Tierra de Bandidos... (Bandit land)

I have seen that when I adjust the Band I get 6 options and not only but according to the tables I have seen there are only 5 bands for analogue FPV which are A,B,E,F and R

How come that I can count 6 times blue LED flashing when choosing the Band?

Bad Raven

Probably best by example.

I'm in the UK, where the legal air to ground frequency band is 5725 to 5875. Look at your chart (not the best, by the way) and you'll see a lot of the frequency spots are outside that and so illegal. Also the max legal power is 25mW, a severe restriction.

There are a LOT more sets of 8 frequencies than that table, some country specific (E Band is China, for example).

There are therefore lots of differing combinations depending on make and if the maker has "tuned" what is available to suit the country.

What matters is the separation. Too close and they interact, depending on the design age of the gear and its quality.

For the gear you have, 15MHz separation is needed between adjacent users.

YOUR vtx should have come with a table or access link online to a table FOR IT.

NHSA

Hi,

Thanks. I remember having seen something but thought it was only the Monitor but I just checked again and yes. I have 6 bands and not five on the VTX.

NHSA

Hi,

The Monitor only receives 5 bands

Its obviously different if you are at a site with others, where you can check what they are or will be using.

However, lets assume you are alone at a site. While it might look clear, you should check!

SO,

Knowing what your legal range of frequencies is, pick something in that range and turn on the SCREEN, checking your choice and either side

If that is clear, then turn on your multicopter and make the camera live.

Raceband 3 to 6 is inside most countries legal band, so thats a safe enough start.
