Programable BEC Connection

I have a Castle Creations CC BEC that can be set in .1v increments from 4.8 to 9.0 volts. I just set it to 5.5v.  Plugging The BEC into the AIOP V2 with the red and black wires in the right place means that the signal line would plug into the PPM pin. I read recommendations that people cut the white (in my case yellow) wire from the BEC. I';m trying to avoid that since I need that wire to program the voltage.

The signal line on the BEC is an input. I think the PPM pin on the AIOP is also an input. Would it hurt anything if they are connected together?

Good question which I cant really answer but there is an easy way to resolve your problem,
use a pin under the plastic tab that locks the signal pin in the housing once you lift the tab you can pull the signal pin out and put a bit of heat shrink around it or tape,
when you need to reprogram the esc you can simply put the pin back in  ~~

Heh ... I reversed the ground and vcc pins in the BEC plug then put it on "back to front" with the signal pin part of the plug hanging in mid air

I don';t know that that';s such a good idea for me. I';m the type that would forget they are reversed, plug it into the programmer and burn something out.

Lifting the pin sounds like the way to go. That way I';ll have a nice big piece of tape on the wire to remind me to plug it back in for programming.

Thanks for your help.

I';m using that CC BEC on mine too. At first I did like Gaza07 said , then I figured out the the PPM pin is not initialized if you not set in the code for the PPM sum. So I just plug it in the PPM without pull it out of the connector.

I knew someone had to have tried it.

Thank You!  ~~
