As a newbie to this hobby and reading up on all sorts of "do's & don'ts" and especially with all this crap in the media about all the proposals for flying a drone that our illustrious numties in Westminster are looking at.

Do any of you guys use any of these drone apps??? I've looked at some of them that show you where you can't fly....but what about the likes of Drone Zones?? I appreciate that just because someone pops a pin on a map and says it's ok to fly here, doesn't necessarily mean that it's a legal place to fly. I'm not getting into the legality of such an app, I understand that you could drive to a pin location only to get aggro off the owner of the land or members of the public if you start flying...in fact where I live is a local airfield which is shone on the "No fly drones" site.  Then on the Drone Zones app a guy as added a pin in a field within the Restricted Area.

I'm just curious if any of you guys have used this app and found it any good? I suppose if you cross reference the two..site with the app may keep you out of trouble. :whistling: :hmm:
With all the beautiful things in the world,  only man could invent boredom.

If i'm not sure about a site i'm going to fly i get the O.S. map out and look for airfields, following this Google earth.
Lots of the no fly zones in the D.J.I.  data base are no longer active,on the other hand some marked as disused on the O.S. maps are used by microlights. Do as much research as possible and proceed with caution..
