Hi all,

I know it is the same old question but I am about to buy my first drone and the one seems to be the obvious choice is the DJI P3 standard but I would like to know of alternatives. I thought I would ask here as my head is spinning googling and comparing them.

These are what I think I have narrowed it down to and I have already got a Gopro 4 Black.

DJI P3 Standard £450 new £350ish used
Yuneec Typhoon G (Go pro) as new £250
3DR Solo with gimble for Go pro as new £380

I was hoping for some advise and if they are good prices.

Thanks in advance!

If you are just after a video/ photo quad then I wouldn';t look much further than a Phantom/ Mavic.

Yeah I know everyone seems to go on about them but I didn';t know if it was like the apple/iPhone equivalent of drones. I just wanted to know if there were other options with me already having the gopro and other brands being so reduced or if dji really are the best option.

P3 standard is the best out of the box choice but you could have a custom built one for around the same price and have easier to replace parts if/when something gets broken.

Unless you go the way of the Karma, the problem with using your gopro on quad is having the functionality whilst flying it like recording/photos & gimbal control.

Friskle

If you have a GoPro, then the Yuneec Q500G could be an option to consider.

i have the Q500+ and they fly superb, stable as hell, granted not many features compared to DJI, but then they are nowhere near as expensive , but still have Follow Me / Watch Me mode , postion hold imho works better than most imho.

This is why I think I am going to steer away from the yuneec.  From the impression I have been getting the 3dr solo fully supports the gopro doesn';t it? If this is the case I am liking the look of these the best as the gopro will take 4k video. I have never been a fan of Apple and preferred Android which seems a comparison between Dji and 3dr. I think I just prefer something a bit different
