Hi I have just recently bought for EMAX RS2205s motors off eBay and did pay full price but could someone who has these just confirm when spinning up by hand the motors do feel notchy ? also looking at them from the base you can see all the magnets but one of my motors looks like the magnets aren';t evenly spaced around the motor housing one magnet has a bigger gap than the others......... they all spin up alright but I just want someone to confirm the are genuine (all came in their right emax cases ?)

Post some good res pics for clarification?there is a guide to telling whats a fake and what isnt,to start off with emax are a bit notchy,if you look in the top of the bell you will see some expoxy resin stuff, kinda blue hard gunk that emax uses when balancing the motors.

New motors do feel notchy so to speak. The smooth out the older the get. At first you can feel each magnet as it spins around. Don';t know why this is. Guessing it';s just the power of the magnets. As for the unevenly spaced one. I';m not sure on that. I think you';ll be fine. If you can feel the motor trying to stop at each magnet that';s a good thing

Thanks for the comments so far........ one of the motors does have some blue glue on a couple of the magnets when viewed from underneath which I wasn';t sure whether a genuine emax motor would show ? I have supplied power to each one seperatly using a servo tester and an old esc and they all spin up ok so hopefully they are all genuine ?

Google emax red bottom fake, you should get a good hit from google.

the blue stuff is normal dont worry, i';m not sure but i think they but extra on to balance the motor accurately, someone correct me if i';m wrong here. either way its normal, don';t worry. I';ve never heard of fake emax motors i';m not even sure thats a thing

No you are right, it is balancing mud use to balance the motors

However fake emax red bottoms is a thing, even emax tell you to check the hologram on the packaging because of fakes, Salem is right on that one
