DJI NAZA with/without GPS compatible with Turnigy 9x?

So I';m thinking of swapping out my kk2.0 for a Naza controller and would probably add the GPS later. I have a turnigy 9x with standard firmware at the moment. Will this be ok with the NAZA? If I upgrade the firmware to ER9X will that allow me to assign all the switches? With the standard firmware the only one I think I can assign to an aux channel is the gear switch.

Yes

I run Naza with GPS on a stock X9 though I cant access all flight modes just now

I use "Gear" to select between manual and Atti or Atti and fail safe depending on how i set the end points

Even with the ERX9 software you are still short of a 3 way switch if you add gps and want to change IOC modes

I use a 9x, and have access to all flight modes - manual, alti and rth.

it was a bit of a faff, and I don';t use the 3 way for them, they are sort of scattered about, but it is possible to get everything working on it.

That';s a pain then I thought with the ER9X firmware might allow me to use the 3 way for mode switch :(

sorry my post was probably a bit confusing. Yes i believe ER9X will let you use the three way switch for changing flight mode from via manual, atti and atti gps or fail safe.

However if you ever add the GPS you will ideally need another three if you want to use the Intelligent orientation modes.

shouldnt be a problem, plenty videos about on it..
heres one https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=3&cad=rja&ved=0CD8QtwIwAg&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DDikLpzlIqHA&ei=A79uUdHxKuaw0AWs4ICoBg&usg=AFQjCNHgL0lD_3jsIBfdXftQ9K-7DVIPzg&bvm=bv.45368065,d.d2k
Ah right so you have to use it in heli mode to get the pitch curve option.  When setting up the kk2 I have it in plane mode which is what I think it is supposed to be..  Seems to fly fine so must work

this is what i got for my 9xr to have all 6 choices

Nice but looks scary :hmm: I think I';d end up ruining my transmitter trying to solder that on :embarrassed

dp106

Looks like you';re only able to force failsafe from the transmitter as well, not much good if it';s already lost signal  Wondering if something like this would work: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__20618__Turnigy_Micro_Failsafe_with_Brake_function.html

yes for fail safe you need to upgrade the TX module and reciever. FR Sky is the popular chioce

see this thread here http://www.multi-rotor.co.uk/index.php?topic=1841.msg14668#msg14668 amongst others

I have the FRsky DJT TX module and the D8R XP reciever

Jeez, always something else to get your head round with this hobby :)

barneyg

With er9x you can set up a channel mix using the 3 way switch + one of the other switches.  So when switch 2 is in position 1 your 3 way switch gives you modes 1,2,and 3 then with switch 2 in position 2 you get modes 4,5, and 6

the inability of Naza to recognize basic loss of signal like Multiwii can was a surprise to me for sure.

I think even the kk2 does as if I turn off the transmitter it says error no throttle input on the screen.
