:confused:I am trying to get into fpv and would like to know what is needed so I can hear my motors.

Either a cam with  built in Mic or a separate on-board Mic. Make sure your bed supports sound.

I dunno, maybe he will fly from bed!
Buzzby, I don';t know anyone that flies with audio. It will automatically be recorded by most action cams but in flight, for legal reasons most pilots have to be able to hear the spotter

I know quite a few people that swear by flying with audio. They';ll use a single earphone so that they can also hear a spotter. I personally have found that I prefer when I can hear my own motors and not someone else';s.

nub

i';ve always used audio

i use a tiny mic V2 and a pair of headphones with volume control';s and i get pretty damn nice audio, the key is 2 volume controls, the mic has to be turned down as much as possible and use the headphones to bring it up, gives a nice clear noise free motor sound ::)

those standard FPV mic';s you see without volume control avoid, the sound is crap and they can cause video problems. no idea what the sound quality is like from VTx';s or camera';s with built in mic';s, but have been meaning to try a cam that has one built to see what the quality is like would save me some extra wiring.

if you can get a decent sound, once you use it you won';t want to fly without it

Point and click.

I crashed on Friday having my first attempt at racing when I though someone else';s motor noise was mine and dropped the throttle too low

easy mistake to make if your used to hearing the sound of your own motors.

that';s no as bad as tuning into someone else';s frequency and not clinking until after the start, though it wouldn';t have mattered because i had forgotten to tighten the new set of props i just put on, like wtf

Lol yeah the "whose quad am looking out of?" Dance where everyone staters picking up their quads and pointing them at their own heads

If you fly on sight and feel you don';t need to worry about motor noise

nub

everybody';s different but i highly recommend trying it
