As per the title, any one use these and how do you rate them for performance and life span?
Thanks in advance

I';ve used them. Decent quality for what they cost but lacking in poke with the 10" props they come with. What size props are you using? As said before I';d be looking at 2814';s or similar for 10" props.

Jazzz

I';ve got them on a 450 quad copter with the 10 inch props they come with on 4 cell you could fry an egg on them
There prity tough though I';m still on the same 4 for over 12 months

I am looking at these to use on a tricopter, instead of the sunny 3108`s to make a matching set.......what props would you use on them if i went for it ?
Thanks for the replies

The problem is, they';re not torquey enough for 10" props and they';re too low kv for smaller props. The ones I have are sat in a box, I can';t think of a use for them.

You could try 10x3.8 APC props, they should be OK, the other thing is to use thin electric rather than slow fly, slow fly props are very inefficient.

I think a CF 9" with a crap-load of pitch would be worth a try. They need to be light. Trouble is they don';t accept T-mount fitting..

Don';t get me wrong, they work and they';re solid, just lacking in punch and can';t stabilise very well in windy conditions. If you';re ok with just steady flying they';ll do.

Guys, many thanks for the input, I think I will shy away from these motors, seems they are okay but not ideal. Revs, they do take T series props

Ah yes, sorry my bad. Just thinking too.. 8" CF prop, 6s, might just totally transform them. I have a box of 8" CF T-mount props, I could send you a couple of sets if you fancy trying my theory. Power with 2x 3s lipo';s in series. Than again your ESC';s would need to be 6s capable. Just a thought. It would effectively be like a 1215kv on 4s.

guest325

I would try a 9x4.5 on 4S, it should give similar performance as 2212 980kv on 3S on the same props, maybe a bit better.

apollo7

No like I said gonna give these a miss, sunnysky 2212 980 would be better on 4s with 9" props

Good idea I think there crap really but didn';t like to say ...
I didn';t no it was the motors that made my quad so bad in the wind ( it';s really bad in the wind )
I';ve just changed to 30 amp littleBee so I could ajust the settings and it';s still not much fun ..
It was only really good fun on 4 cell 10" 4.7 props
But the motors were hot hot hot after one flight

My Hex runs sunnysky x2212 980kv motors with 9x4.5 props on 4s and performs VERY well plus the motors dont even get warm, i could probably run same but with 10x4.5 props and still run fine

Hmm, just tried a sunnysky 3108 on the RC explorer tilt, after all this faffing about for so long looks like the fecker fits
