It is official I have cancelled Christmas!!!!!

Once again it is just round the corner that time of year I hate with all my worth.
One day of excess spent with people who we don';t talk to for 364 days after the event, eating stuff that we will not eat for around the same amount of time!!!
Why do we put ourselves through such misery ?
I remember when I was a kid the 2 weeks building up to the day were an event in themselves but now it feels like Easter finishes and then it is the run up to Christmas.
I am honestly boycotting it this year I refuse to be taken in by the supermarkets offerings why do we give them so much of our hard won money for a couple of days of excess ?
Who in their right mind goes out and spends 10 quid on mixed nuts in shells when I can buy a bag of shelled mixed nuts for about 2.50 ?
Who buys a ton of fruit and for the rest of the year does not even entertain a banana in the house ?
Turkey I would rather have a sheet of M.D.F it will be more moist.
And guess what it will be the same TV.
The same crappy jokes from the crappy crackers which have only become victims to that wonderful thing health and safety, come on did you ever hear of anyone blowing up their house due to a excessive snapper in a cracker ??
What happened to the wonderful toys we used to get from them now it is cheap and useless tatt.
And then 6 days later we do something similar more alcohol than we would normally consume and make promises that none of us ever keep and for what to celebrate that the planet has just and I do mean just survived another year ?
Anyway if you celebrate these holidays I hope you have a fantastic time.
And I hope to see you all in the new year if everything goes well

I look forward to it but for the same reason as Irobot, today is the last day of a  5 day mini break then back in for 3 days, weekend then back inn for 5 days then of till han 3rd, happy days
we have xmas dinner in moderation and dont do a lot on new years eve, in fact i would rather set up the telescope for some Lunar imaging than get of my head

I';m old enough to remember real Christmas celebrations where you had a few luxuries and modest presents, you appreciated it so much more then.
Today it';s all about money, not the true spirit of Christmas - we have nice food and drink in moderation, just go up a bit of a step in the quality of what we have.
Our pressie this year is going to be a holiday to celebrate Christmas and my birthday  (and retirement).
Hope everyone has their Christmas exactly how they choose it to be; we';re not all the same - it would be a boring world if we were!!!

I have saved up a few dvd for xmas as if i see ant and puke on the screen i get homicidal, and the patio is nearly full.. also watching  someone bake a cake or prancing around covered in sequins  far too mentally challenging. It seems lots of peole like these programs but instead of wasting millions of license payers cash on them  they could just give them a balloon on a stick, far cheaper and they won';t notice the difference.

Im currently in Malasia a largly Muslim but mixed race and religon Country, and have been loving the run up to Christmas. Its 28 Degrees, and apart from the odd jingle if I venture into a shopping mall, Christmas is invisible!

Dont get me wrong, I like the chance to get together with family, just hate all the commercial BS telling me what is the prefect gift for people they don';t know.

I';d advice hiding somewhere warm and foreign then flying home on the 24th. You can buy cheap presents here too...

For once I would like to have Christmas be Christmas not lets go spend a small fortune on tatt and be gratefull for something I really did not want.

Gave her my Christmas list 3 things that were definatel not on it were socks, boxers and aftershave
I am sure I put a few things down that I really would like you know like a DX9 pro
but I guarantee that nothing on that list will I get !!!!
So why does she even ask what would you like for xmas???
I suppose the year I asked for a fit sweedish aupair with massage skills might have caused the initial problem but honest I was worrying about my children and sports related injuries HONEST !!!!!

So here is my Christmas wish for you all I hope you all get heaps of wealth, health and happiness and above all else you get to fly as often as the mood takes you next year

In typical British fashion I went for a Christmas lunch
At the local cafe for my breakfast
The cafes owner was so enthusiastic about his Christmas dinner he persuaded me to forgo the fry up ....
And in typical British fashion I lied at how wonderful it was
When confronted with the" how was the Christmas dinner Sr.
I need to grow some balls .
And tell the truth .i think I';ll make that my New Years resolution .

lets be honest  pubs, restaurants and cafes that serve mediocre food all year are not going to serve anything any better this time of year kfc and mac ds are well up on profit raising my son came home with a festive burger the other day dried out meat limp salad and feck all flavour
mrs wasn';t too happy when I asked if she had made a fortune giving the her Christmas dinner recipes. A cruddy burger you sell all year is not a festive feast just because you put it in a different box and charge 60p more it is a fecking con kfc change the sauce to something else and have a new xmas burger 90p more than the same thing the rest of the year. Christmas is the true marriage of greed and gullibility.
