New 250 size V6 hexacopter Build

yama

decided to make a small multirotor after getting a toy grade JJRC H20 and seeing how far these toy grade flight controllers have come.

went for spedix 250 size kit and anew flysky I6 controller

the esc come nicely labelled with the correct led colours on.

esc';s and associated wiring are located within the plastic fibre arms which creates a nice slick cable free environment

the yellow transparent landing legs will glow from the led';s of the esc';s. 4 front legs green and the back two will be red.

unfortunately I am unable to finish the buil;d as one of the esc';s is dead :( led';s works but the motor wont run.

nub

cool frame/build that, the ESC install is pretty slick, bummer about one of them being goosed, hopefully not take to long to get a replacement sorted out.
Point and click.

Monkey see, Monkey do.

Static65

Weird (but rather well thought out) frame design, at first glance I thought you had photographed it on it';s back

yama

Good news HobbyRC have agreed to send me a replacement ESC should be there when I get home tonight. ~~

#5
finally got my hands on a NAZE32 10DOf  and im very impressed with the cleanflight software and easy of use ~~

came across a little problem with regards from moving from a kk2.0 to cleanflight in that the motors rotate in the opposite direction, i dont know why they all cant use the same setups....

in the end after some reading it seems a good idea to set this frame up as a U6 or V6 as motors 6 & 1 are closer to the FC center line than the other motors. Luckily someone on the cleanflight pages have thought of this and supplied the following for custom mixes.

[attach=1]

.4........3.
............
.5...FC...2.
............
...6....1...

Use mmix 0 1.0, -0.5, 1.0, -1.0   half negative   full positive   CW
Use mmix 1 1.0, -1.0, 0.0, 1.0   full negative   none   CCW
Use mmix 2 1.0, -1.0, -1.0, -1.0   full negative   full negative   CW
Use mmix 3 1.0, 1.0, -1.0, 1.0   full positive   full negative   CCW
Use mmix 4 1.0, 1.0, 0.0, -1.0   full positive   none   CW
Use mmix 5 1.0, 0.5, 1.0, 1.0   half positive   full positive   CCW

yama

well had my first flight the other evening an snapped a prop.

ive ordered and received some DAL V2 5" props and these are brilliant as ive had a rather large crash with not prop breakages ~~

anyone know how to use Angle mode in cleanflight? as soon as i select Angle mode the hex just starts tilting in all directions and goes a bit mental before crashing.... rate and horizon mode are fine though

yama

Highly recommend these DAL props managed to crash twice roll and fly on

yama

managed to get a couple of flights in now and flight times seem to be 9mins on a 1400mah 3S battery. Does this seem normal??

also hover must be less than 10% throttle is this the characteristics of 250 size quads?

nub

:hmm: not on a 250 quad with a 3S battery that';s quite surprising, though i know nothing about hex';s.

flight times will vary depending on how your flying but 7-9 minutes is probably about right for just hovering/cruising around.
Point and click.

Monkey see, Monkey do.

yama

thats what im flying, although i go mine from hobbyRC for £90 without the flight controller.

brill little Hex';s

just need to get some spares in before they stop making them.

yama

yes really do need some spares now attempted some flips and ended up with the following

seems quite a meaty textured break should glue back together easy enough

nub

awww unlucky :(

looks glueable to me, certainly worth a try anyways ::)
Point and click.

yama

gorilla glue to the rescue

this stuff is brill i glued the cars bumper together after someone split it .

yama

so glad i found this thread again :) major flip crashes after updating the naze board until i released that i was using custom mixes to reverse the motors.... due to swapping the board from kk2.0.

bought some fpv kit to fix to this little guy should be fun ~~ after flying the Ghost Drone 2.0 for a bit.
