android usb connectivity?

Has anyone tried a direct usb cable using an android device to a crius. Does it connect ok or are there driver issues?
I';m thinking of using my galaxt note 10.1 for field configuration and one of the gcs apps.

I bought a usb cable for my S2 and it doesn';t work at side of the usb it says not working, I have no clue why

it could be drivers. I';m sure that the GCS offer cable connectivity.

It might depend on your phone. I downloaded an app to control my canon camera via a usb cable to my phone, and it came up with an error that I cant remember the wording of, but was along the lines of "this phone does not support etc". So, may just be the phone.

What software are you as ng on your phone? I believe this one works although not tried it myself yet........

And I am told I will be able to plug my 3dr USB telemetry tx/RX into my phone using that cable and the andropilot software. Having looked at the app it suggest a direct connection via cable to flight controller can be used as well.
Like I say this is all hear say right now but as soon as the cable arrives I will let you know how I get on. I';m desperate to not have to lug my laptop to the field.
My phone is a Samsung galaxy note 2 by the way.
