Slayers back kind of!!!! (Dead PC so on mobile)

Well what can I say mental few weeks.
First trying to explain to nice man at benefits fraud investigation why I cant get to his office (apparently agoraphobia is something to do with being a hooligan :S)
So after much toing and froing I have now managed to sort out this problem thanks mainly to a wonderful consultant who has been treating me for a year now.
Second having to find a small fortune to pay bills whilst this was all sorted out thank god for wonderful family and inlaws.
Thinking that';s it near enough sorted now managed to pay back all that was owed out (hate owing money) then that old faithful sh!t luck steps in.
this I joke you not is one week.
Sunday  Washing machine flips a tit and destroys itself (insured so will be replaced)
Tuesday  Cooker decides that wife';s pie is just too much and commits hara-kiri (I understand it I just am not brave enough to follow it';s example (Once again insured so replaceable)
Thursday Heating dies only been on twice since last winter and now it is dead bloody good timing £800 quid and mates rates fitting thank god for friends
Friday Hob decides to follow ovens example and dispatches itself with a blue flash and rather loud bang dog flew past me at head height (impressive for a Chihuahua that stands barely a foot tall)
So that week all sorted what with three insured items replaced and new boiler fitted cant get no worst can it ?
Well it did the power supply in the Hewlett Packard piece of crap I had decided that because the cooker and hob had offed their selves it would follow suit but not happy with killing itself it had decided to take the motherboard and cup with it (Thanks a bunch)
So now I am resigned to using either my mobile or tablet for the foreseeable future and bidding like a maniac on items on eBay.
But just so you know I am still getting out into the garden and have had my final hypnotherapy session. I can now open the front door and I am constantly challenging myself to go that little bit further. I would love to just walk around the block but that will come in time I just have to get the courage up.
Right enough waffle from me hope you are all ok and hope to be about a bit more often now.

Case is only 6 months old and have so many SATA drives laying around 4TB in total seems silly to buy a whole pc lol monitor is only a few months old was a gift so will just get what I need to fix I think

Nope first thing had checked it was just one of those things I think pc was my fault :S overloading PSU did not help but hey ho poo happens lol.

All the others were just wear and tear more than anything the washing machine was fun it walked all over the kitchen as it died lucky I was planning on replacing the floor tiles or that would have been another unexpected expense

Doug that would be wonderful I have had my memory tested (computer RAM before there are any quick quipps) and my video card they are all working it is just the mobo and cpu that went to silicone heaven and I  did not even see signs of the magic smoke escaping lol. Problem is I need a heavy duty PSU to run the SATA drives and vid card that is what is causing me more problems than anything why put power connectors onto video cards :S

Had a look and really think that what I have won';t be suitable for you at all really old school (They even have Parallel ports on them (Wish I had noticed that before buying a used dell for the CNC Machine)) But if they are of use I cam send them Down but suspect that your Memory or Video cards won';t fit them anyway?

Maybe something like this would be a good solution for you, cheap as chips, well mostly, and good kit.  I';ve had a couple of this firm, they';ve all been good workers and quite tidy on the outside.  I went SFF but if you look at the rest of their kit they';ve all sorts.  Best of all, the OS is fully pukka MS licensed ....

Cheers for that but they would be going backwards from what I had I think I might take the opportunity to upgrade as I said I have all my HDDs still running and the video card checks out fine the case is like new so will just keep looking on fleabay until something affordable comes up going to rob son of his laptop later and will have to set that up and use that for now

Get a surge arresting mains blocks for the PC, TV Etc.
Too many things have blown up in your house recently, you might have some horrendous spikes on the mains (assuming you';ve not had an electrical storm).
Could be that one of the items that has already gone was the cause of the spikes but surge arrestors don';t eat much and some come with equipment insurance.

The pc was connected to a surge protector it was a duff component in the psu that caused this problem mind you I have just been going through external drive on sons laptop looking for all the install files I need and found a performance test I run on the system a few weeks ago prehapse it dying was not such a bad thing lol

Issue you may have is that that level of memory is now obsolete so you may end up replacing that as well also be aware of the Type of bus that you Vidoe card fits into for Compatibility wise?

When I knew there was a problem was as soon as I got 76Mb fiber and it still seemed as fast as it was on 4Mb even the wifi on it was obsolete speed wise lmao.
Phone speed max is 63.96 down 18.45 up
Pc was maxed at  28.65 down and 16.35up
shows how bad the wifi throughput was lol
