Typhoon H or Iron man 680

Okay i know, just built my first Hex and already looking at next  ::)
This may well be my final multirotor and wont happen till early next year due to finances
I really want the Iron man 680, this would be with decent camera and gimbal, FPV to TX mounted monitor, all singing and dancing so to speak, it will need me to sell the S550 as a complete flyer, or
typhoon H as a full on package, the downside to this option i would have to sell the lot to help fund, i really am thinking 680 but thought i would throw it out on here for the pro`s and cons
Volantex Ranger 1600/2000, Ranger 1200 G2, Phoenix S 1600 AR900 Miniskyhunter, ZOHD Dart 635 and a few 680 batwings plus old faithful C1 chaser and a lot of eagletree guardians

I suppose it also boils down to what ground station you plan on using. The Typhoon H Pro package does come with the ST16, which is pretty cool, expandable and, to a degree, future-proof... Until Android moves on to the point where it';s just not fast enough..  ;)

I looked at the Ironman kit before building my 550, but thought that the only advantage was the folding arms (which the Typhoon H also has).

Personally, I like the look of the Typhoon and have already started saving up for one, so, unless anything better is released in the next year or so, and I can finally finish the 550 build, I think I';ll be plumbing for the Typhoon.

My tuppeny-worth

Err  nice baps, now what was i looking for.?
http://www.yuneecuav.com/yuneec-typhoon-let-you-down/

Looks like the gps on Yuneec a/c is slightly iffy. If i was parting with that kind of cash it would have to be better.
At the moment im resisting buying  a dji A2, with any luck i will fail by the end of the month. ::)
Reptile folder , alien 500 , F/ Shark Attitudes,

Is it me, or is Drone Girl a little bit biased towards the Typhoon?

She did have a couple of good points, though.....

Yes nice baps, an interesting pilot
I just dont see it with the H, still think a good iron man set up is going to be better for me

Yes I';ve heard one or two pretty serious negatives about it like motors failing after a few flights and customer services not very good.
What would I have? Probably a Pixhawk Iron Man or Tarot 680 pro.

nothing at all wrong with the H, mine has been spot on, and performs perfectly.

As for GPS being iffy, absolute rubbish..the GPS on my Q500+ and H, are far superior to any of the DJI ones ( Inc Wookong M ) i have owned and still own, the position holding is second to none imho.

POI is perfect, far better than my Wookong M ever was, cable cam works really nicely also.

As for that page,,,its stability is bad ? sorry, but utter rubbish also, mine handles great and it couldnt be any more stable if it was still on the ground.

I have an H and it works well. The comparison with the Phantom is an ongoing saga. For me having built an F550 with WKM and a Y6 F550 with Pixhawk the H is a refreshing change in simplicity of operation. I bought the H for out of the box flying and it not taking up most of the car with all the bits and pieces. I clipped a tree some weeks ago with the H and it continued flying, so it has paid for itself already proving that the  5 motor flight feature really works. The camera on the Phantom is a tad better but there are H owners who have tweaked their lens focus from Mr Magoo';s factory setup and been extra pleased with the results.

Mind you I think it would be nice to build a 680 in the winter.

I will have to see what bonus i make at work, then decide, just maybe i will keep the S550 but i would like a folding frame

Glad to hear some positive feedback on the Typhoon from a couple of owners. I';d really set my heart on one, but was slightly put off by some of the comments. I suppose that folk are more likely to post a poor review than a good review of anything, so it stands to reason that we';re more likely to read more about the negatives.

I';ve had a good old surf around the Internet and checked quite a few YouTube reviews and comparisons. It seems that the Typhoon and the Phantom are creating a similar war to that of the Spectrum and C64 owners of the 80s!!!

I';ll keep eyeing up the Typhoon, unless someone releases anything new and improved...!

I am going of the idea of typhoon and iron man, i think the S550 might be the main rig for me, now i have the flight times up to better than i had expected
