Storm Drone 6 underpowered?? Devo 7 settings issue?

Hi.
I';ve posted on here previously about having trouble getting my storm drone 6 with tarot fc installed to take off without it tipping backwards.
Well i';ve now stripped the gopro and gimbal off to make it as light as possible and although it now takes off it appears to be very under powered.
I';ve now got it taking off but only to around 2-3 metres to avoid any grief from the neighbours (i know that';s a whole different issue with CAA rules etc) but when pull back on the elevation slightly to stop it rising too high, to get it to hover it starts to drop slowly and no matter how much more lift i try to give it to stop it dropping there';s no difference at all and not even in sound of power increasing to the motors.
I';m pretty new to building drones but all motors seem to work fine when tested with the tarot assistant motor test feature. It';s as though when the throttle (elevation) stick is at max top position it';s still not sending a signal to the motors for more power.
Is there some settings in my Devo 7 controller i need to check or is likely to be something more technical like the esc need servo testing?
Batteries are fine too.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi mdr75. I';ve got a Tarot ZYX-M on my Hex and it works fine. I';m not sure what your issue is, but try checking the following:

1. Rates - check that your transmitter (controller) has not got its rates set to lover than 100% on the throttle channel. If you';re using Mode 2 it';ll most likely be Channel 3.

2. Check the calibration in the Flight Assistant tool, and make sure that the indicators show the travel going all the way to 100%

3. Check the flight mode setting. I had a heck of a job arming my Hex before realising I needed to switch my aux channel to a different position.

4. My ZYX-M has a mode whereby the Hex stays in alt hold with the stick centred, will descend slowly with the stick down (but above 10% travel), and will climb according to position above 60%. The important thing is to check the mid-range. I can set mine to a range of anything up to 30%-70%, so I';d get a massive ';dead'; zone where the craft stays in altitude hold. If my rates were down, then the FC would never see anything above 70% and not climb.

Not sure if your FC and Assistant software work the same, but it may be worth checking.

Other than that, are your cells, motors and props up to scratch?
