Ok

so I used to have a lovely shuttle computer but the power supply has just gone pop.
Blew the fuse , then replaced the fuse and this little green think went bang. new fuse again and it does nowt.

Green thing I believe is a thermistor and is currently short circuited according to my meter.

So question is where can I get one and do you think replacing it will fix it , or has this gone pop due to another fault?

Currently running pc on seperate power supply but with cables hanging out the hole where the old PSU was. It looks sh1t and I can';t find a shuttle replacement as their a weird small size.

That is a thermistor, its used as a surge protector at switch on, if you changed the fuse and that thermistor blew, then something else further along the circuit has also shorted which has overloaded the thermistor.

Best to just get a new power supply as fault diagnosis can be difficult in switch mode psu';s

Hi DirtyHarry,
I have bought lots of shuttles for people and they all have gone down with bad PSU';s.  The bad new is it is ridiculously hard to get hold of original or copy PSUs for these Shuttles.  If you can find one it will be really expensive. They are also wired differently to standard ATX PSUs...a little bit...

I did post a solution that worked for me ages ago on Tom';s Hardware....I managed to rewire a standard ATX PSU and got it to work but its not an elegant solution. Dunno if this will help much

It was so long ago I can';t remember why I did what I did with it :-)

I have two of them sitting here right now, both broken.

Time to retire you Shuttle probably....

Ups, reading your post more throughly..you have done this PSU bodge already...ugly innit...hehe
