This has to be the board to have for people wanting to use multi wii or megapirate it will work very well with both firmwares, the data flash is only usable currently with megapirate  ~~

Have one on order and will be updating the Crius MPNG guide as soon as it arrives..
There are some subtle hardware differences.. ports are in a different place.. extra Analogue ports.. etc

I';m also looking forward to your review,

I would realy like the dataflash as flightrecorder,
I think it would be possible to add a dataflash (atmel 45db161) to a V1.

My analisys on the board (from your picture): (sorry can get a bit techy ;) )
dataflash is shared to the ICP-port and resistors are used to scale the voltage from 5 to ~3.3v (10K - 4k7)
on the ATMEGA it is connected from PB0-PB3 (!CS, SCK, MOSI, MISO)

because it is all on the header, one would be possible to easly hack this on a V1 :P we only need 3v3, the ftdi chip creates it but only when usb is connected, is there another ldo on the board?

some mods to mpng should be done to incorporate these v2 features, not that hard i gues

I have just been drooling over this board on that site, this V2 is a great bit of kit from the looks of it.

So what kind of data can the datalogger record? can you set it to record any data i.e Baro readout, acc max values, gps readings with time stamp etc?

I was looking at getting another Rabbit with the hi-precion baro but this seems to have it already and about £30 cheaper.

Look forward to your review jumpy  ~~

As far as I know at the moment there is only the megapirate firmware that makes use of the logging but who knows what will come of it  ~~

Any idea what the odd servo cables are supposed to be for?

Just realizing that things change at the speed of light in this world of multirotors, specially during the last few months. I bought a Crius AIOP V1.1 a month ago (still in the box) and now there is the V2... :banghead: What are the main diffrerences between these two versions?

willumpie82

it';s basicly the same thing.

main difference is from v1
- improved USB connector strength (they say)
- better baro (with metal cap instead of plastic)
- dataflash (for data logger)
- additional available pins for us tweakers :P
- ...

To connect the board to the Rx  ~~
I was referring to the fact that they have a 3-pin servo connector on one end, and three 3-pin connectors on the other, each with only one pin connected to one of the three wires. Not three 1-pin connectors, three 3-pin connectors. Like I said - odd.

Sorry Gaza, didnt know you had one, or I would have asked you as well as Jumpy  They have a 3-pin servo connector on one end, and three 3-pin connectors on the other, each with only one pin connected to one of the three wires. Ok no worries right the end with the single plug and 3 wires plugs into the AIOP across say aileron elevator and rudder, then the other end with the 3 plugs go in the the respective channels on the rx it keeps the amount of wires to a minimum, you only need 1 live and ground from the AIOP to the rx,
so  normal 3 way servo lead would go across throttle +5 Gnd  ~~

Ah, got it, thanks Gaza. I';m using CPPM anyway, but that makes perfect sense. I guess I expected to see single pin connectors to shave of another free tenths of a gram

I haven';t installed mine yet, but bench tests look promising.

Taken from the Rctimer list of board features  <·User-defined pads D32~37 & PG1~PG5>  ~~
It means they can be used for variuos things if setup in the code I think 32 has been used for a buzzer  ~~

I know what the user-defined pads D32~37 are for , just seeing if anyone knows what the PG1~PG5 is for.

I`ve found that on the Arduino Mega PG1 ~ PG5 doesn`t even get off the chips  , there are the address latching pin etc , for adding extra sram into it`s address space ?.
