F550 retractable landing gear - Is it worth it?

I';ve got a hex which is based on the F550 design. I';m running a Zenmuse H3-3D gimbal underneath which as you probably know, only has tilt control and whilst it is a 3 angle gimbal, only dampens yaw movement whilst maintaining an angle generally favouring the front of the hex.

As a result, landing gear isnt a huge issue in terms of getting in the way of the camera.

However, I was wondering if retractable landing gear offers any other advantages?

Would for example, the hex be more stable in the air with the landing gear retracted rather than always hanging down?
Is the additional weight worth the tradeoff for this extra stability if this is the case?

I';ve got the Tarot retracts on my 550 clone, as my FeiyuTech gimbal has full yaw control, I can';t say I';ve noticed any difference in flight with the legs up or down ??

No.

As Above..no will make no difference, if you cant pan 360° anyway, there is little point in them.

I';ve gone retracts. Only advantage I can see is you can store it upside down in a much shallower box with a fold down gps mast.
But who cares they look awesome moving up n down.

I';ve gone retracts on my tri, going to kick it up a notch by making them automatic as soon as it lifts off.
Why use 4 motors when you can use 6?
