Gimbal design flaw

Just wondering why 99% of the Gimbals that are designed for the GoPro have the pitch motor mounted on the left of the camera - exactly where all of the inputs and SD card sit!

It';s really annoying having to remove my camera from the craft everytime I need to charge or upload media from it.

Anyone ever re-orientated one without turning it into a diy mashup?

The main reason is balance...

Ideally you want the centre point of balance to be in the middle of lens (or somewhere between there and the middle of the camera), with the GoPro having it';s lens all the way over on one side the easy way to get some weight on the other side of it to balance it out is to put the pitch motor there...

I can charge mine in situ (in fact it is powered by a UBEC when on the craft) but downloading media is indeed a ball ache as i like to take the card out...
