Cleaning fatshark v3

My v3';s took a bit of a knock this evening and must have jarred a fleck of dirt or dust into the left lcd or lense so feeling brave I stripped them down and blew off the dust with my airbrush , easy fix   the only down side is I cant seem to get the rubber eye pieces to seat properly, its the little rubber locking strips that just wont go through the slots in the goggles, ive tried prodding them throuģh with a small driver but they just pull back out when I remove the driver 
has anyone else had this problem?
