Lipo main power lead replacement

I have a lipo where the main power lead is a bit short and I was wondering if the power leads can be replaced as I have never stripped down s 3S lipo and if it is possible what about the plastic cover that protects the lipo

Depends. I think sometimes the power cables are spot welded to the battery tags. So unless you have a spot welder....
If they are just soldered you will need quite a powerful iron to solder quickly without causing damage to the cells.

Obviously I don';t need to tell you to be very careful and do 1 cable at a time and be very careful not to short anything.

As for the covering it';s just heat shrink.

I might be tempted to either make my quad power cable longer as the extra inch or what ever of cable wouldn';t weigh much or I would make up a male to female extension piece. OK so it would weigh more but it';s easy and safe to do.

I did not want disturb the quad again but you are right I will extend the main power lead.

I was being idle mate so I have done it now and extended the leads.

Nice one Dave. Being idle here too but my quad not here so just watching tv and surfing quads  ::)
